Published on 22nd June 2025 by Simon Fearby

Background
This isn’t a paid review of TickTick — I’m simply a fan of the https://www.2doapp.com/ app looking for a better alternative. Unfortunately, after years of requests, they still haven’t released a Windows version.
If you use this link to signup and go premium I will get 1 month premium free.
I have an iPhone, iPad and an Apple Watch. I used to have a Mac Book Pro but I switched back to Windows 11 and need an app on Windows to help me to track tasks.

My Use Case for a Todo App
I like using tasks to take note or things i need to to and should be doing. Lately I have been woring on programming projects and tasks start building up. I need a more efficient was to tracks tasks.
High Expectations of TickTick
2Do’s core features work well, but without a Windows client, I needed an alternative for managing tasks (instead of moving everything to Jira).
I downloaded the TickTick Windows Installer from here (https://ticktick.com) and opened it.

I signed up with an email and created an account”.

I was presented with the following screen after logging in.

TickTick Features
- Task
- Calendar
- Eisenhower Matrix
- Pomodoro
- Habit Tracker
- Countdown
I selected all features to test out and clicked continue

I was prompted to create some lists then clicked Get Started

This UI looks familiar.

TickTick Web App
Before I got carried away I logged into the https://ticktick.com/webapp to set 2FA Security

2FA Security is an option :)

First My Email needs to be verified

I could only use Google or Apple for 2FA; unfortunately, there’s no YubiKey option.\

On the dekstop app I create a Test Task List.

I created a few test tasks and set due times.

I linked 2FA, now it's tiem to check out the Mobile app.

- Quadrant 1: Urgent + Important → Do it now
- Quadrant 2: Not Urgent but Important → Plan it
- Quadrant 3: Urgent but Not Important → Delegate it
- Quadrant 4: Not Urgent + Not Important → Ignore it

I will test out the Eisenhower Matrix Feature and report back in a few weeks.
